Why You Need to Visit the NSU Art Museum

Spend the Day Touring the Fun and Funky NSU Art Museum!

The mission of NSU Art Museum is to engage a wide variety of people through an extensive selection of fine Modernist art. In terms of what you’ll discover the the museum: It’s home to the country’s largest collection of 19th and early 20th century work by William Glackens. Of course, you’ll see plenty of other beautiful pieces, too. In addition to rotating exhibits, the museum also features an auditorium, café, and store. The café is a great place to stop in for a quick lunch of a sandwich, soup, or a salad. They also serve beer, wine, and cappuccinos. Be sure to peruse the museum store to pick up a souvenir or a special gift for someone!

Admission and Hours to Visit

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m. It’s closed on Mondays, but on the first Thursday of the month, extended hours are offered through 8:00 p.m. Daily admission is $12.00 for 13 and over, $8.00 for seniors and military, $5.00 for students, and free for children under 12 years old.

Current and Upcoming Exhibitions

If you’ll be visiting the museum in the coming months, you will find two current exhibitions to explore. “Remember to React: 60 Years of Collecting” will run through June of 2019. “William J. Glackens and Pierre-Auguste Renoir: Affinities and Distinctions” will be on display through May of 2019. Before you visit the art museum, check out their events calendar.
