About the Museum
The Museum of Science and Discovery in Fort Lauderdale is the ultimate way to spend a day with your little ones! Whether your child is into learning about weather, wildlife, or prehistoric fossils, we promise they’ll fall in love with this top-notch center. The museum features two floors of interactive exhibits, an IMAX theater, and a gift shop aptly named the “Explore Store.” An entire day can easily be spent here, and adults typically enjoy the experience just as much as their children!
The Museum of Discovery and Science hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased separately for each section of the museum. For access to the exhibits and one IMAX show, tickets cost $21 for adults and $16 for children. Infants under two years of age enter free!
The Exhibits are Interactive and Fun
The first thing visitors see when they walk through the door is the museum’s 12-foot long shark replica. In addition to amazing and lifelike structures like this one, there are five permanent exhibits on display. These include “Powerful You,” “Go Green,” “Minerals Rock Exhibit,” “Runways To Rockets,” and “Living in the Everglades.” All of these installments feature fun and interactive components that make you wish you never had to leave.
One of the most notable exhibits is actually multiple installments in one. The EcoDiscovery Center features awe-inspiring displays like “Otters at Play,” “Everglades Airboat Adventure,” and more. Don’t miss this 34,000-square foot, hands-on learning center!
